QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • My chime rings randomly without any ringing my doorbell. What is going on?

What you are experiencing is called a "ghost chime."  It happens occasionally with the Nest Hello with all types of chimes.  We have found an easy fix that solves the problem about 90% of the time is full factory reset of the Nest Hello.  It should take about 5 minutes.  Here are the instructions:
      1.  Delete the Nest Hello device from your app. 2.  Expose the back of the Nest Hello but leave it attached to the power wires. 3.  You will see a small pinhole button on the back of the Nest.  Please insert a paper clip to press this button while simultaneously pressing the doorbell button.  Hold both buttons for one minute 4.  Your Nest Hello is now factory reset.  Reseat the Nest on the backing and attach.  Please go through the reinstall process on your app, and be sure to select chime on.    Also, make sure you are not using the chime connector that comes with the Nest.   Let us know if that works and if you have any other questions.  And remember, if we can't troubleshoot your problem and there it isn't working, we will replace it with LIFETIME WARRANTY on all products

  • i have a nest wireless door bell but no in door chime would like to know how your product works (seen video) but looks like you need to plug in ????

Our chime only works with hardwired video doorbells.  If you are running off of battery power it will not work. However, you can hardwire the Nest Battery if you choose to.

  • I have a Sky Bell system set up in the home with one chime in the living room. Do I understand that I can purchase a Chime receiver, plug it into a power outlet and then pair the chime to the SkyBell?

Just to clarify, the chime you have set up in the living room is an ohmkat chime.  If you already have an OhmKat chime, then yes, you can pair additional chime receivers to your current unit.

  • Can this be used outdoors?

It is not rated for outdoor use at this time.   is something we are working on

  • Does the chime go off if you lose power and then comes back on?

Yes, the chime will lose power when your home power is lost.  It will return to full functionality when power is restored.

  • is this compatible with simlisafe video doorbell?

Bruce, you are asking about the Additional Chime Receiver; this extra chime receiver is paired with an already installed chime set(a set of transmitter and a chime). Short answer: yes works very well with Simplisafe. Thousands of installs. Long answer: you need to start with a wireless chime set, and then you can add additional chime receivers. This is helpful when you want for example a chime in each room in a big house or on different floors. They can all be paired to the same transmitter on one doorbell, and so when the doorbell is pressed all the chimes will ring at the same time.

  • Is it possible to order additional chimes with the EU plug? If that's not possible, can I order multiple "Wireless Universal Video Doorbell Chime" EU Plug packs and then pair the receivers from those to just one of the transmitters?

The answer to both questions is Yes. Which option is more cost effective depends on where you are buying it.

If you are buying this in EU(on our Amazon EU store), it will be cheaper and faster to buy the whole kit in EU and just pair the additional receivers to just one transmitter. But if this will ship to an address in the US and will then be taken to EU, then you can get just the additional receivers on our website.

We don't have only receivers on our EU amazon store. Hence the complicated answer.

    Thanks
